Toothed White-topped Aster

From Nearctica

Identification: Flowers white with very few ray flowers (4 to 5). The basal leaves are spatulate, toothed, and taper to a narrow base without a distinct petiole. Plant 6 inches to 2 feet tall.

Distribution: Michigan in the west to New England in the east, southward to Florida and Alabama.

Habitat: Dry woods.

Flowering period: June to October.
