Identification: Flowers with white rays and deep purple disk florets. Leaves blade-shaped and coarsely toothed. Plant variable in shape. Plant 1 to 5 feet in height.
Distribution: Throughout eastern North America and the Plains States.
Habitat: Fields, thickets, margins of woods, streams, and lakes.
Flowering Period: August to October.
