Mountain Bellwort
Uvularia puberula
The leaves clasp, but do not pierce, the stem. The clean looking, when compared to the large-flowered bellwort which is sort of messy looking, pale yellow flowers hang individually from the ends of stems. This is a low growing plant with a height of around 8 to 10 inches. The leaves of the mountain bellwort are shiny on both sides distinguishing it from the sessile bellwort. This is a plant of pine barrens and was found in LucasLand in hilly pine woods.
