Appalachian or Turgid Blazing Star

Blooms in August to September with a flower spike 8 inches to 3 feet of pink to purple flower heads. The spike consists of 5 to 40 flowers. Alernate narrow leaves are 3 to 12 inches long. The corolla is rose purple and pubescent inside near the base.
