Ranunculus hispidus
This is a rather obscure specimen of a well-known group of plants. They all have leaves divided into three leaflets. In the hispid buttercup these leaves are about as wide as they are long. The stems spread from the base of the plant. Flowers are glossy, with five shining petals that are oblong shaped. This is a plat of dry or rich woods. The plants in the Bull Pasture Gorge were all uniformly about 6-10 inches tall.
