Canada, Meadow, or Wild Yellow Lily

Identification: Flowers large, nodding, yellow to orange, rarely red. Petals not strong curled backward (reflexed). Interior of the petals spotted with orange-brown. Anthers of the stamens large, clublike. Leaves usually in whorls. Plant 2 to 5 feet in height.
Distribution: New England in the north to Georgia and Alabama in the southward, westward to Indiana and Arkansas.

Habitat: Canada Lily is found in wet meadows and bogs.
Flowering period: June to August.
