Alien: Native of Europe.
Identification: The flowers (about 1 inch in diameter) come in groups of two or three at the apex of a stem covered with small, scalelike bracts. The leaves are dandelionlike, form a basal rosette, and are hairy on both sides. Plant 8 to 16 inches in height.
Distribution: Most of North America except for the Plains States.
Habitat: Cat's-Ear is a weed found in lawns, fields, and along roadsides.
Flowering Period: May to August.
