Zizia aurea
The leaves are rather distinctive as they consist of two and three times divided leaflets with toothed edges. This member of the Parsley family is found throughout the area, generally preferring moist soil in ditches, pastures and stream margins. A flower of spring and early summer.
Note the divided leaves with toothed edges. These distinguish golden alexanders from similar plants.
