Galeopsis tetrahit
Annual weed with square stems, covered in bristly hairs. Leaves ovate and coarsely toothed. Flowers in the leaf axils are small, stalkless, a combination of purple, pink and white in colour. Flowers appear mid July.
Introduced from Europe.
The plant is an aggressive weed but is nice to look at. The flowers of G. tetrahit are typically some shade of pink but, as you can see, they can be all white also.
