Identification: Flowers greenish-white and hanging in drooping clusters from the stem. Floral bracts 5 in number and the pappus is white. Basal leaves triangular in shape, but variably cut. Plant 2 to 7 feet in height.
Distribution: Southeastern Canada southward to Georgia and Texas.
Habitat: moist woods.
Flowering period: July to October.
