General Characteristics: The white flowers grow in plumes atop the 3'- 8' tall plant whose flowers do not droop. The petals are absent, and the greenish sepals fall off shortly after blooming, leaving the club-shaped, white stamens to give the flower its color. The compound leaves are divided and subdivided into small leaflets about 1" long, which have 2-3 lobes.
Plant Lore: The nickname Muskrat Weed was given to the Tall Meadow Rue by people who found the tall plant frequently at muskrat ponds.
