Enchanter's Nightshade has very small white flowers of an unusual shape. Unlike most members of the Evening-primrose family this species has flowers with only two sepals and two petals which are deeply lobed. The paired leaves have toothed margins. Enchanter's Nightshade grows in shady woods.

Enchanter's Nightshade, which grows by the woodland path, is a member of the willowherb family. The Anglo Saxons called it aelthone and used it as a charm against elves.
