Phlox subulata
Other names are Moss Pink or Ground Pink giving away what the color of this plant should be. However, all through the region the flowers were white with a touch of pink near the center. Flowers are 1 inch wide. This plant is matted along the ground and has its flower petals slightly indented at the tip. A prostrate plant of dry, sandy of rocky places makes a grand show on exposed road cuts. Blooms in the spring.
