Forest or Wild Blue Phlox
Phlox divaricata
Flowers are terminal and and relatively flat-topped. The blue color seems to mostly absent here, but some plants had a touch of pale blue. The leaves are clearly lance-shaped, the whole plant is fuzzy. The plant can be upright or prostrate often with a shoot at the base. Open woods and road banks in the spring.
