Erect perennial to 40 in. tall. Leaves, stems, sepals and petals are black-dotted. Leaves are opposite are sessile, lanceolate to lanceolate-ovate. 5 petals over 0.3 in. long, bright yellow. Inflorescense is terminal on the stem and branches with short-stalked flowers. Wet or dry areas. June-August.
