Oenothera perennis
Habitat: Dry to moist open ground, open woods, fields, and meadows.
Species Description:Perennial herb.
Flowering Period: Early June to late August.
Diagnostic Characteristics:
This small Oenothera is distinct in having small flowers (petals 3-10mm and anthers 0.5-2.5mm) and the stigmas at about the same height as the anthers. One flower per plant opens at one time in the evening. The fruit is glandular pubescent and angled. Leaves are entire and generally elliptic.
