Identification: Flowers golden yellow and disk yellow or yellow-brown. Stem smooth. Leaves opposite, slightly rough above and downy, white below. Outer margin finely toothed, more heavily toward the base than the apex. Base of lower leaves with a distinct, short leaf petiole. Plant 3 to 7 feet in height.
Distribution: Throughout eastern North America and the Plains States and provinces.
Habitat: Pale-leaved Wood Sunflower is a species of dry woods.
Flowering period: July to September
