Identification: Flowers small, white, tubular, with small, free petal lobes of no particular unique structure. Flowers clustered in the leaf axils. Stem naked commonly tinged with purple. Leaves elongate to ovate with large teeth along the outer margin. Base of the leaf with concave margins. Plant 6 to 24 inches in height.
Distribution: Throughout eastern North America.
Habitat: Bugleweed is found in a variety of wet soils including marshes and along the banks of lakes, ponds and river.
Flowering period: July to October.
