Large Purple-fringed Orchid

Platanthera grandiflora

Plant is found growing in swamp forests, stream banks, seeping slopes, marshes, sphagnum bog forests, and mesic wooded slopes.

Plants bloom in the late spring to summer with thirty to sixty five 3 cm wide flowers. Flowers are fragrant with the scent of lavender.
